WEDDINGS
A wedding was celebrated quietly at St. James's Church, Newtown> On Tuesday aftornoon, When Lucy Winifred, elder daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Line, Rintoul street, Wellington, was married to Henry Iyo, son of Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Fordo, Keiburn. The Rev. W. R. Milne officiated. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore ivory satin embroidered With silver, made with a tight bodied and full skirt, with tulle veil and orange blossoms. She carried a sheaf of dream roses. Miss Mary Line was bridesmaid, wearing pale blue georgette with a hat to match. She carried a bouquet of pink roses. Mr. R. H. C. Mackenzie was best man. Mr. Ernest Dawson played tho wedding music. After the ceremony a reception was held by Dr. and Mrs. Line in tho Pioneer Club reception room. Mrs. Line wore a gown of bottle green moiro and a hat to tone, and carried a bou.quet of bcrriest Mrs. Forde, mother of the bridegroom, was in a floral georgetto and black hat and carried a bouquet in autumn tones. Later Mr. and Mrs. Forde left on a tour, the bride travelling in a navy blue COstUnio and hat, with brown furs. Tho wedding was recently solemnised by the Eev. G. D: Falconer, at tho [Presbyterian Church, Brooklyn, of Nel« lie, daughter of Mr. and Mi%L. Allen, Brooklyn, to John Cecil Fleming, elder son of tho late J. F". Fleming, of Greymouth. Mr. J. K. Purdie played Lohengrin's "Wedding March" as the bride entered the church with her father. She wore a dainty Victorian dress, the tight-fitting bodice being of white satin, while the skirt was composed of tulle frills reaching to the ankles. A large tulle bow was fastened to the left side with orange blossom. The veil, kindly lent by a friend, was held in place with two posies of orange blossom. The bouquet was of cream lilies, roses, pale pink carnations, and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaids, Miss Botty Gi'aham and Miss Erica Judd, wore marriette and taffeta frocks, the former in salmon pink and the latter in pale green. The full marriette skirts were trimmed with scalloped taffeta bands and drooped at the back, where a largo taffeta bow completed each frock. Tho large felt hats, which matched tlieh-froeks, were turned up at the front and trimmed with a velvet streamer. Each carried a bouquet to tone. Mr. R. Kirker and Mr. R. Allen were best man and groomsman respectively. After tho ceremony Mrs. Allen received tho guests at the Pavilion, Basin Reserve. She wore a smart frock of navy crepe de chine and a navy model hat. Mrs. Kirker, who assisted her, wore black crepe de chine, with hat to match. Both carried posies of autumn tints. When Mr. and Mrs. Fleming left for a tour the latter was attired in a bcigo laeo and georgette frock, with a felt hat to match, and navy crepo de chine coat.
