WOfiSER BAY CLUB

Thu following races were held over the week-end by the Worscr Bay Swimming and Life Saving Club:—

First distance "Kov/ntree Cup" 50 yards Breaststroke Handicap.—A Jones (Bsec), 1; E. Hardcastle (Gsec), 2; V. Ames (ssec), 3. Second distance, Rowntree Cup, 50 yards Backstroke Handicap: A Jones (3sec), 1; V. Ames (4sec), 2; A. Hepburn (scr), 3. Jones wins the Cup as the result of this race. Third distance, Brodie Cup, 150 yards, Free Style Handieup: J. W. Newport 12sec), ]; V. L. Allan (30sec), 2; A. Jones (23scc), 3. Allan and Jones tie with six points each; and have to swim ofl to decide the winner. Newport and Hull were close with five points each Second distance, Atkins Cup, 75 yards, l'rcc Style Handicap, for boys 1G years and under: Spiers (Gscch 1; Adams (Gsec), 2; Bell (4sec), 3. All the races drew largo fields, und with the exception of the first distance "Rowntree Cup, which Jones won comfortably, the finishes were very close. On Sunday there was a'large crowd on the Worscr Bay Beach, and a demonstration by the club's life-saving team wa? favourably commented upon.
