MR. AND MRS. T. DWAN
CANCER RESEARCH
BIG ACCRETION TO FUND
At the time of the recent visit to New Zealand of Mr. W. Sampson Handley, the well-known London surgeon and authority on cancer, the "Evening Post" announced that Mrs. T. Dwan, of Wellington, had generously given £1000 for cancer research. It is pleasing to be able to state that Mr. and Mrs. T. Dwan have now donated an additional £500 to tho Wellington division of the New Zealand branch of the British Empire Cancer Campaign. Mr. and Mrs. Dwau have also intimated to the president of the Cancer Campaign (Dr. J. S. Elliott) their intention to ,bequeath a sum of not less than £10,000 to the New Zealand branch of the campaign.
The gift of £500 will be placed to the credit of the fund which is to be raised in the Wellington district.
The generous donations of Mr. and Mrs. Dwan are proofs of the interest which they take in cancer prevention in New Zealand, and will be the means of giving renewed hope to many sufferers and their relatives and friends.
