Tho cricket match between llaiiawatu and tho M.C.C. team is being concluded to-day in bright sunshine after the rain sljowers overnight. The wicket is in good order. Tho not out M.C.C. men, Woolley (551 and Dawson (12), went to the crease. The score was raised to 310 without further loss.

Woolley and Dawson continued to bat brightly, tho former being particularly aggressive, getting several 6!s. He reached his century after ninety minutes. Ho then had a lucky let-off, a fieldsman misjudging the ball from an uppish shot. The fourth century came after 238 minutes' play. Woolley again had a life, a chance of stumping him being missed. The partnership was broken immediately afterwards. As the result of a smart return Dawson was run out. Ho had made 46 out of 159 added for the eighth ticket. Legge followed, and tho total advanced to 418, when Cutler clean bowled Woolley. Tho left-hander had made 125 in 117 minutes, and had hit eight 4's and five 6's. Gilligan was the last man in. Legge was dropped in the slips. The scoring was hunted along, and at the luncheon adjournment was 476 for nine wickets. Details:—
