A STARTLING CRASH

With a loud noise heard gome considerable distance away, a three-seater car crashed through the fence and then into a bay window of a house, occupied by Mr. Heighten in Tinakoii road opposite May street in the early hours of this morning. or three yards of fence were earned away and the house also suffered structural damage from the impact. The car was lib tbadly damaged, and the driver escaped almost uninjured. It appears .that the car was being driven up Tinakori road and was about to turn into May street when the right front tire burst. Swerving across the road, the car collided slightly with the rear of another car and then into the fence, ending up alongside the house.
