LATE BISHOP CLEARY
REQUIEM MASS CELEBRATED (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, This Day. Draped black and gold, the interior of St. Patrick's Cathedral resounded ,this morning to the strains of the Gregorian music on the occasion of the month's mind for the late Bishop Cleary. Solemn pontifical requiem mass was celebrated in the presence of an overflowing congregation; There was a record attendance of clergy and members of religious orders. The brother and nephew of the late Bishop from Melbourne were also present. The celebrant was the Eight Key. Doctor Whyte, Bishop of Dunedin, and the panegyric was delivered by Doctor Liston, Bishop of, Auckland. Attending Bishop Brodie, of Christchurch, were Dr. Moxkane, of the Holy Cross College, Mosgiel, and the Very Eeverend J. O'Connell, Christchureh. Also assisting were Father Bobinson, Superior of the Eedemptorist Fathers, "Wellington, and Monsignor M'Kenna (Vicar-General at Wellington).
