PAL.MEBSTON N., 6th Jan,

James Bowen, an elderly man, appeared in the Palmerston North Magistrate's Court to-day on a charge of drunkenness. Senior-Sergeant Whitehouse said that more serious charges would be made. It had been found that he had been.wanted since 1917. He had framed, it was alleged, a passport under the name of Kelly, and, stating that he was leaving the country, had obtained £100 from another man. He was also wanted for arrears of maintenance amounting to about £400 for the maintenance of his illegitimate child.
