The anticyclone which has advanced on to the Dominion has its centre over the northern districts. Several slight low pressure waves have been moving over the Southern Tasman Sea, and one of these crossed Southern New Zealand during last night: Winds, therefore, have been chiefly westerly or northwesterly, and strong and squally occasionally from Taranaki and Wellington Provinces southwards. They have brought rain to scattered places in the western and southern portions of the South Island, but over most of the Dominion fair to cloudy weather has ruled with rising temperatures. . .
