BANKRUPTCY
A' meeting of creditors in' the . bankrupt estate of William-Glenville Clemoes, driver,:of Wellington,;was to have been held at ■ the office of the Official Assignee (Mr. S. Tansley) today, but lapsed, for Want of a quorum. The accounts showed that bankrupt owed £38 17s; the assets were a car, of an estimated value-of £5 10a;: furniture, £20; surplus from securities in hands of secured creditors, £2:10s 8d; deficiency, £10 16s 4d> .;■•- In his sworn statement; , bankrupt said he bo.ught a car, andat the time was working and able to pay •- instalments regularly. ~ Subsequently he was out of work for eight -months. He again got work, and was now getting £4 11s a week, and it took every penny of that to Jive on. The Official Assignee: said .that owing to the dolay .of, bankrupt in: sending in his statemont, due notice of the meeting could notsbb given. The meeting was adjourned sine die. • -
