At an inquest held, at'Manaia-yes* terday concerning the death of Theresa; Zimmerman, aged 40, and her, two iafant boys, aged six months and thre* years, tho Coroner, Mr. 8..5. Sage, returned a verdict that'while in a depressed state of mind.Mrs. Zimmerman drowned her two children and theji committed suicide. •• ■ :
The tragedy occurred ■ last • Friday", on an Oeo farm, where the deceased lived with her husband, David Zimmerman. The latter was engaged as * sharemilker, and was absent from the house between 10 a.m. and-4 p.m. oa Friday. Beturning- with his brother, he found the children's bodies floating in a shallow stream fifty yards from the house, -and the mother's body in » dam 400 yards away. The evidence- showed that Mrs. Zimmerman recently came to New Zealand from Switzerland to marry. She did not speak English; and lacked feminine companionship, and she-was frequently, depressed and troubled with insomnia.
