Following the threatened imprison* ment of two Johannesburg -reporter^, for refusing to disclose confidential information to the police, the Londonj district branch of the Institute o& Journalists has cabled supporting thai South African Society's protest against an attempt to compel journalists ta break tho long-established maxim that confidences reposed in theni must nob lie betrayed. •
