OBITUARY

DEAN HAKPEE, CHRISTCHURCH (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHEISTCHUECH, This Day. The death has occurred of Dean Harper, aged 82, formerly Dean of ChristcUurch. The late Dean Harper was born in Mortimer, Berkshire, in 184 S. He received his early education at Christ's Collego "and Trinity College, later going to Oxford. Ho was ordained in 1873, and was made a priest in 1874. He was vicar of Ellcsmcre, New Zealand, from 1876 to 1832, and vicar of St. Michael's, Christtfhurch, 18S2-93. In 1901 he was appointed Dean of Christchurch. The late- Dean Harper was a Fellow of Christ 's College Christchurch, and was also on tho Board of Governors of Canterbury College.
