THE EISTEDDFOD
(To the Editor.) «d "'iTl^' 115 amazed to read in to-night* Post" that "The Eisteddfod was held at Liverpool this year, the first time outside Wales for thirty years." I will always remember the Welch National Eisteddfod of 1917, held at Birkenhead ±"ark, Cheshire. The Gorsedd ceremony took place at Gun Hill, while the musical events were decided in a huge marquee pitched in the Upper Park, and the Eight Honourable (as he then was) David Lloyd Ueorge delivered one of his famous war; speeches* there. Birkenhead, I understands is still in Cheshire, unless the Welsh have recently acquired it.—l am, etc., „., , w , • IRISHMAN. JJrd .November.
