Mutton: Fine, 39s to 39s 6d per cwt; fair *2 g°S d > 37i t0 38s 6d >' dark dull, 35s to M S t ? e-e£: Sweet and/°r mix ed, 38s + \° ,1 2s; falr t0 good, 35s 6d to 38s; dark *° d^n; 33| 6d to 34s 6d. Mixed.' Fair to good, 355. 6d to 38s; dark-to dull, 33s 6d to 34s 6d. Gut, etc., 33s Od to 34s 9d. Eggs: Market ha.s better tone. New laid scarce and prices firm. Coloniel clearing steadily at slightly improved prices. Present quotations are: English, 25s to 32s per long 100; Dutch and Danish, 21s to 265; Belgian, 15s to 225; Polish, 12s 9d to 14s; South African and Australian, 16s 9d to 17s 9d. New Zealand have been cleared at 16s 9d to 17s 6d, but further arrivals due.
Hemp: Manila little firmer on better demand and reserve of sellers. "J" grade for January-March shipments sold at £35 ss. Output ist January to 31st October, I,3s7,ooo,bales'against 1.171,000 bales same time last year. Stocks Manila 31st October, 220,000 bales against 144,000; in Great Britain 12,107 against 16,894. Sisal: Market dull with pressure to sell afloat fair average quality, which has sold at £35. Tor good marks £36 obtainable, No. 1 steady and £36 paid for special marks. Fair average quality nominally £34. New Zealand: Small business done in fair, but buyers hesitate. Very little high points offering. Nominal comparative closing values for November-January shipments: High points £32 10s to £33; fair, £29 5s to £29 10s; others unchanged. Stocks in Great Britain on 31st October 98 tons against 51 tons same time last year.
Wool; Sales continue with excellent competition and opening values maintained. Crossbred still poorly represented. Better catalogue next week.
