WAIRARAPA ACTIVITY
(Special to "The Evening Post.")
MASTEBTOjST, This Day. A meeting of the committee of the Wairarapa Aero Club was held oh Monday, Mr. W. L. Freo presiding over a full attendance of delegates, several of whom had come from Greytown and Martinborough. It was reported that preliminary arrangements had been made by the Wellington and Wairarapa Aero Clubs for the holding of a joint art union, subject to a permit being obtained from the Department of Internal Affairs.
The committee decided to obtain membership badges. These have a design of wings, with the word "Wairarapa," and are in the club's colours, green and silver.
Several new members were elected. Last night the Mastcrton Borough Council decided to set up a committee to confer with a committee of the Wairarapa Aero Club to consider the question of procuring an aerodrome for Masterton. Councillor W. L. Free, who is president of the Aero Club, said that Wellington would never bo more than a secondary landing ground on account of the lack of space and the weather conditions. Unless Masterton got busy it would find an aerodrome established elsewhere in the district which had great possibilities for aviation.
