BLOODSHED BUT NO RIOTING

MEXICO CITY, 17th November Paseual Oritz Eubio, the National Eevolutioiiary Party conaidate, was elected President of Mexico at Sunday's election by what appears to be the greatest Presidential vote ever cast in Mexico. There was bloodshed in. several cities, but no rioting attended the election on Sunday night. It is reported that twelve persons were killed and many more wounded in the cities and country districts. The present President, Senor Emilio Portes Gil, was elected by the Senate and Chamber in place of the President, elect, General Obregon, who was assassinated. Ho was inaugurated on 30th' ■ November, 1928, to serve until sth Feb^ ruary, 1930.
