Unusually heavy rain drenched the coastal area during the week-end, and general rain fell in many parts of the State, e.ven the.far west benefiting by the most useful fall for over a year. A thunderstorm at Broken Hill put nine months' supply in the' town reservoir, averting a wator famine.
