BIGAMY CHARGE FAILS

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHUECH, This Day. At the Supreme Court, James Wiwi Norton, a quarter-easto Maori, was acquitted on a chargo of having committed bigamy, on the ground that there was no proof that ho knew his wife was living when he went through a form of marriage on the second occasion.

Mr. Justice Adams directed the jury to return a verdict of not guilty.
