CHURCH-THEATRE

Workmen aro busy on a building which is to be a church at one end and a theatre at tho other. This is the new Church Hall on the Castelnau Estate, Barnes (England). The foun-dation-stone was laid by Mrs. Charles Garbett, mother of the Bishop of Southwark. Pacing the altar aro sliding doora up to the roof. These can be closed so as to cut the altar off from the main hall (says the "Daily Chronicle"). At the opposite end is an excellent stage equipped for concerts, lectures, or plays. On week-days, however, it will be used for whist drives, dances, concerts, lectures, and dramatic performances by the tenants in general.
