DIVORCE CASES

The defended divorce; case of William Hartley against Jamsettie Hartley on the ground of adultery was concluded before the Chief Justice (the Hon. M. Myers) and a jury in the Supreme Court to-day. The jury, found that the respondent had committed adultery, but ■ that the allegations of adultery made against the petitioner in a cross-petition had not been established. A decree nisi, to be moved absolute,after three months, was granted to the petitioner. The hearing of an application by Mr. J. Scott (for the petitioner) for interim custody of the children, was deferred. Mr. W. E. Leicester acted for the respondent." Undefended divorce cases were dealt with by Mr. Justice Blair. Thomas Joseph Conway was granted' a decree msi against Elsie Cbnway on the gronnd of desertion, Mr. P. S. K. Macassey apipeanng for the petitioner. A similar decree was made in the ease of Walter John Scammell against Winifred Scammell, on the ground of separation by mutual consent. Mr. E. E., Scott acted: for the petitioner. On the petition of Frederick William Hill, for whom Mr W. Heine appeared, an order for the restitution of conjugal lights was made against Dorothy Norwood Hill. : A decree nisi, to.be- moved absolute at the expiration of three months, was granted Leo Anders Jaeobsen in his suit against Gwladys Elms Jaeobsen oa the grounds of adultery.
