NEW QUALITY THEATRE.

To-night at the New Quality Theatre is "The Passion Play" of Oberammergau. It la performed every tenth year, and is attended by thousands of visitors. The dramatic representation of the sufferings of Christ took its rise from a vow made by the inhabitants of the village In the Middle Ages, with the hopa of staying a plague which was then racing. The performances take place on Sundays during; the summer in a large open-air theatre, which will seat 6000. Each performance lasts nine hours, and 700 actors, all belonging to the village, take part in the play The villagers regard it as a solemn act of religious worship, and the performances are characterised by the greatest reverence. The humble actors, new to screen technique, acquit themremarkably well done.
