(By Telegraph.)

(Special to "The Evening Post.")

CHEISTCHUBCH, This Day. It is probable that within tho next threo weeks the State Forest Service, through the Department's office in Christchureh, will have 500 of the unemployed engaged on its projects throughout the province. All the necessary equipment is now in hand, and only a few final arrangements have to be made, such as securing camping equipment from tho Defence Department. A start will be made even sooner at Hanmcr, where 200 men' aro to commence work within a fortnight. A similar scheme is under way in Otago, where tho unemployed will be put to work clearing land and thinning out on the Tapauui plantations. It is estimated that this Dominionwide scheme of the State Forest Service will absorb fully 1500 men. %
