PIGEON RACING

The Petone Homing Pigeon Club held its week-end race from lYanktou Junction last Saturday, an air line distance of 240 miles. The birds were liberated against a strong southerly wind, and had the same conditions all the way home, taking seven hours to do the journey. A good many birds' failed to home on the day.
