ASSESSMENT COURT
The Assessment Court, set up to hear objections to the recent Government valuations, concluded its sittings in Wellington yesterday. The number of valuations made in Wellington wag 25,000, in respect of which 700 objeo tions iverc lodged. However, only 85 properties were adjudicated upon by the Court, tho reinaining*objections being ■ disposed of either by settlement or by withdrawal.. Tho Court, which consists of a permanent president and two assessors for each district in which it sits, is now to proceed to Otago and Southland.
