Nasselle actually has, the best form on paper but Fortalice from .0, Cox's stable should shape much better under the higher scale of weight with a horseman like L. G. Morris aboard. Golden Flower and Animated both hail from J. Fryer's stable, with Golden Flower possessing the best credentials. Fryer also has Bione and Iciogne in this race. From what has been seen of the remainder, none of them look like troubling Fortalice, Nasselle and Golden Flower. ' WAIROA HANDICAP, of 190 sots; six

for him. Bonogne is expected to run well, and if fancied may take all kinds of beating. Oration does not appeal, and Coolmint should account for Denier with a pull of 61b in the weights. Monaghan may be suited by the track conditions. The four at the end of the handicap seem held safe by Coolmint on hack form. Coolmint and Bonogne may show up well. HACK STEEPLECHASE HANDICAP, of 200 soys; two miles.

Airtight and Huirangi Girl have the best recent form, but if Gilgai has done well recently he should take all kiuds of beating. San Fera will be suited by the distance, and is a fine jumper, while Ratapiko and Grand Lupin are possible lightweights. Gilgai, San Fera, and Huirangi Curl may not disgrace themselves., ' PATEA COUNTY CUP. of 2T5 soys: one mile and a Quarter.

. Piuthair at her best would be a. good deal superior in class to this field/and she ran -in encouraging fashion at Hastings. JHipo may find the last' bit' of the mile and a quarter troublesome, but Anolo may show up well. Manly: at his best would have a chance, and Kawhakina is wejl expected from the right quarter. Kawhakina and Anolo may be troubled most by Piuthair. OTURI HACK HANDICAP, of 225 sots; six furlongs.

Singer showed fair form in the South when racing in Mr. J. M. Samson's interests Warplane appears to hold the best credentials, and should be a good favour ite. . KOHI HACK HANDICAP, of 130 soys; seven furlongs.

Several engaged in this event are also in races decided earlier in the day. Hopwood after his.double victory recently at Hawera is sure to be in demand, and the distance will. be to his liking. Warflanie and Fortaiiee are also well placed in this event if it is selected-for them. Vinella was not too lucky at Napier and ran third each day, her minor placing to Malahat and Shortly being good form when considered for this event. Vinella and Hopwood may be in. most demand. Post positions will be of value in this event. Broxt is speedy over five furlongs, and Princess Rain was equal to beating all but Great Lady at Hastings last Saturday. Potoleer is a speedy hack who should show up fairly well with a strong horseman now available under the winter scale.
