Northamptonshire, at the Oval: Surrey, first innings, 197 (Sandham 67), and second six for 366 (declared), (Sandhani 110, Squires ' 110 Brooks not out 50). Northants, first innings 170, Gover taking six wickets for 81; second 214 (Timms 72), Fender taking eight wickets for 74. Surrey won by 179 runs. Essex v. Middlesex, at Ley ton: Essex, first innings 477 (Cutmore 79,.8 ray 92, Bussell not out' 111), and second, two for 54. Middlesex, .first innings 486 (Hearne not out 285). Eastman took four wickets for 123. Middlesex won on the nrst innings. Warwickshire v. Kent, at Birmingham: Warwickshire, first innings 485 (Milner 71, Smith 89, Wyatt not out 146). Kent, first innings 222 (Ames 97). Kent followed on and scored 213 ' (Legge 57), Eaine taking four wickets for 40. Warwickshire won by an inn-' ings and 50 runs-. Hampshire v. Derbyshire, at Chesterlield.—Hampshire, first-innings 62, Mitchell taking five for 20 and Townsend four for 17, and second 129, Slater taking five for 50. Derbyshire, first 290 (Lee not out 134). Derbyshire won by an innings and 95 runs. Notts v. Somerset, at Nottingham.— Nottinghamshire, first innings 255 « ? t on ta ring four.f°r 61. Somerset' hrst 80, Larwood taking five for 33 and Barratt five for 44. Somerset followed on and scored 165, Voce taking four for 50 and S. Staples four for 39. Notts won by an innings and 10 runs. Lanea'shire v. Worcestershire, it Worcester.—Lancashire, first four for 592 declared (Watson 207, E. Tyldesley not T\ y*?* 85>- Worcestershire, first 308 (Higgins 109, Wright 66) Macdonald taking four for 16, and second 260 (Wright 55). Lancashire won by an innings and 24 runs Sussex y. Wales, at Brighton.—Sussex, first innings 294 (Collins not out °6 n l> and second three for 287 (Bowley w«' ?* T ParJ s, 76)- Wales, first six for 556 declared (Bell 157, Lord Aberdare 134, Hills not out 120). The match was drafrn. Leicestershire v. Oxford University, Ssi°f°r^—Leicestershire, first innings 383 (Astill 127), and second five-for 183, declared (Shipmen 75, Bradshaw 51). Oxford, first 309, Smith takinjr six for 77, ana second one for 146 (Akers Douglas 59, Brett not out 75) The match was drawn.
