GAME AT BASIN KESEBVE,

Sides selected from Wellington first division players played a match at the Basin Beserve this morning, with a view of enabling the selector to pick a team to represent Wellington in the Football Association trophy match against Auckland. The teams were as follows:— j A: Wyatt (Diamond) j G. Wotherspoon (Diamond) and Haines (Petone); Bilby (Institute), Bird -(Marist), and Main (Waterside), captain; Worth (T.M.C.A.), Dickinson (Institute), Longbottom (Waterside), Cudby (Marist), and Stark (Diamond). , B: Kirkland (Thistle); Newton and I Duffle (Seatoun); H. Smith (Petone), Kershaw (Seatoun), captain, and Hanson (Brooklyn); Nickol and Lowryl (Hutt), Fenton (Petone), Torringtori (S. Wellington), ana Batchelor (Hutt). The game, which waa not played in a very serious manner, resulted in an easy win for the A team by-6 goals to ■2. The B team forced play in the opening stages of the game, and Lowry scored from a. scramble near the net. Then Stark, Dickinson, and Longbottom were prominent, the latter scoring. 1-1.
