ST. CUTHBERT'S
Presiding at the annual meeting of the parishioners of St. CuthbcifK, the Vicar, the Kcv. H. A. Barnett, said Unit M,r past year had been a diflicult and ovonlful one. Tho vestry entered into Iwo i-ou-tracts in May, one fur the removal, enlargement, and improvement of (he church buildings, the other for the sale of the *itc to be; vacated; but on account of the. City Council's proposal to make a." new deviation street the vestry's work was hold up for several months at a most critical juncture. This had resulted in much disorganisation of the church's ulfairs. It was remarkable that under these circumstances they had actually made progress. The church buildings now stood upon a fine Bite, and were in an excellent state of repair. Will, the aid ii! the grant lrom the City Council at the cud ot tlKjr liimiK'ial year, the current, accounts ol the parish had closed with small credit balances.
