KING'S THEATRE.

There aro two pictures featuring In th& change of programme' at tho King's Theatre.' Tho first is a thrilling sporting picture entitled

"Thoroughbreds," which deals with the most popular of all sport, racing. Tho scene is laid in Virginia, near tho stables of Lady Courageous, a famous racehorse,'which is being trained by her owner, 'for the big New York meeting. Johnny Spencer, the jockey, takes advantage of the opportunity to ride on tlio metropolitan tracks, but, through an infatuation, is persuaded to ride a crooked race. As a consequence, his license is cancelled. The time comes for Lady Courageous to race, but no ono is able to control tho high-spirited horse, and the owner almost withdraws the. horse, when the former jockey comes on the" scene, and Is given the chance to ride his former mount. Richard Walling and Marian Nixon take the leading parts, and ■ there is a strong cast. The- second feature, "Tho Girl on tho Barge," shows Sally O'Neil in the leading .part, that of the mald-of-all-work on a canal barge. Tho story:relates, to tho life of the occupants of tho barge, who spend all their days on tho canals. There Is.'a.brutal father (Jean Herscbolt). and tho trials of tho little family are portrayed in an admirable manner. Malcolm i>l'Gregor takes tho part of the- hero. There Is a good supporting programme, and the King's Orchestra supplies appropriate music.
