STRAND THEATRE.
Starring Rod La Hocque, supported by Jobyna Ralston, Louise Dresser, Cyril Chadwick, and Goorgo Nichols, "Gigolo " heads tho doublo feature programme to commence screenIng at tlie Strand Theatre to-day. La Rocquo is seen In tho role of "Gid," a wealthy American boy, whose mother is possessed of a strong "European complex." The mother, betrayed by Louise Dresser, because of tills complex, keeps her sou abroad too long for his own good. A member of the Lafayetto Escadrillc, Gid returns to Paris after being severely wounded in tho war, to find ills mother penniless. He becomes a gigolo at the famous Mariguys. Later, through the love and entreaties of his boyhood sweetheart, played by winsome Jobyna Ralston, ho Is brought to his sonses, ends his. career as a gigolo, and. returns with her to America. Fay Compton, Stewart Rome, and Dorothy Boyd are the stars of "Somehow Good," the British production which will bo the second feature. This is a powerful drama. In which love brings understanding and final happiness. Appropriate music will be supplied by the orchestra.
