REGENT THEATRE.
The World's Entertainers were given a most enthusiastic reception at tho Regent Theatre on Saturday. Krcsli from long seasons in Australia, they introduced several turns which wore both novel and entertaining, and tho largo audience showed its approval in no uncertain'fashion. Harmston's Comedy Cockatoos, a troupe of thirty-live cockatoo comedians, proved themselves to bo endowed with intelligence far beyond that usually possessed by these birds. Tumblers, acrobats, balancers, trapeze artists, and clowns all did their work well, and one, "The Colonel," amused and astonished the crowd by answering questions and doing sums in arithmetic, giving the answers by striking a .gong. Some excellent juggling was (tone by JianelH and Mark. The former did bewildering things with- all manner of articles from hoops to billiard cues, his turn culminating in a brilliat effort with flaming torches. Jean Donald and her -marionettes proved instantly popular,, and the case with which tile little figures were manipulated added to the attractiveness of the entertainment. National dancing was presented by Kveiyn May, whose dainty performance brought unstinted applause. "Love Overnight" was the film offering, and with that noted comedian, Rod La Rociiue, in tho stellar role, it was not surprising that there should be plenty to laugh at in tho picture. Challenged by his wealthy father to support himself for twelve months, the hero leaves luxury behind and takes a position as pay-clerk in a railway subway. His mind, however, is more attracted by feminine beauty than railway finance, and he falls desperately in love with every pretty face that peeps in at his window. At last lie conceives a grand passion, which culminates in his kidnapping a bride from the very altar. Events thereafter move swiftly to a happy climax. Rod La Roeque is supported by pretty Jeannetto LotY, Tom Kennedy, and Mary Carr. Another attraction is "Honour Above All." telling of a romance between an innkeeper's daughter and the heir to a barony. Leatrice Joy and Nils Asther are IKe stars. Attractive music is played by the Regent Orchestra.
