BLOW TO GOVERNMENT
Australian Press Association —United Service (Received 22nd March, 10 a.m.) LONDON, 21st March. The Eddisbury by-election to fill the vacancy caused by tho death of Sir Harry Barnston resulted:— R. J. Russell (L.) 10,223 Col. Fenwiuk Palmer (C.) . 5,931 The figures for tho last election were:— Major S. H. Barnston (C.) 11,006 R. J. Russell (L.) ' 9,337 The result is therefore a Conservative loss and a Liberal gain.
