MEN GO BACK TO WORK

WHANGAREI, This Day.

An official intimation was given that the employees of the Wilson Portland Cement Company's mine at Hikurangi resumed work this morning, ■ thereby considerably relieving the coal shortage anxiety. The men have been on strike since 6th March. The terms of the settlement are not available for publication. :

The de-watering of the' Hikurangi Coal Company's flooded mine is proceeding at a rate of two feet daily, but there is still a depth, of over ninety feet to deal with.
