English often enough presents difficulties to a Frenchman by reason of the spelling and its pronunciation, but it is not often that it trips a foreigner up on account of the length of its words.' The Paris "Intrahsigeant," however, has discovered a word that rivals German composite substantives, and prints it in all.its alarming length. "Antidisestablishmentarianism" has 28 letters, but even so it is not quite likely to'be Jong, enough to bridge the channel.
