CUP PRESENTED
TO BROOKLYN CADETS Advice has been received; by the Minister of Defence (the Hon. T. M. Wilford) from the High Commissioner in London that Captain P. C. Piram, of the New Zealand Travel Bureau in London, has asked him ..to transmit to New Zealand a silver, cup for presentation to. the. Brooklyn Senior Cadets. The cup is being forwarded accordingly. The . High. Commissioner points out that Captain.Pirani has n6t giveii. a yery !clear.:indicatipn:ai{,'.to'what articular .competition the, cup is _to. be. compoted for, leaving-the. selection of an object rather to , the: discretion of. the Brooklyn School Committee. The only conditions the donor stipulates are that the cup Bhall bo for annual competition, and;that it:cannot bo won outright. He prefers that it.should :not be a shooting trophy; but awarded for some competition 1, in -which' disciplinary ability would be. a feature; Ho further lays.vit dowfi,.that -the cup., shall:'-:be he'ld-byan-individual: cadet for.'a yean'
