TRAGEDY IN BRISBANE

■ ■ •■■ BRISBANE, sth March. Alfred Ellwood, who conducted a chemist 's shop at Auchenflower, in the suburbs, his wife and two children were found dead at their home to-day. The shocking discovery was made by a neighbour. All the ..bodies were in' night attire.'.. The mother and the daughter Nornia, aged At teen, were in one bed, and the'father and the son George, aged eleven, in. another bed.
The cause of death was apparently poisoning.
Some time during the week-end a note was pinned to the door reading: "Away for the week-end."
Tho police are of opinion that the murder was committed by the father,; as a note discovered in the house in his writing indicated suicide owing to business worries. The last seen of the family was oil Sunday afternoon, when the boy was observed in the garden. Mrs. Ellwood had suffered, much from ill-health. The two children were of a fine type. -......-.
