POISONS ACT
"PRACTICALLY WORTHLESS"

The fact that restrictions are placed on the sale of poisons by chemists, whereas grocers and other retailers are not bound by such restrictions, was commented upon by the delegates to the Pharmaceutical Society Conference, which carried the following remit submitted by the Wellington division: "That this conference deplores the many weaknesses of the Poisons Act, recognising that it is completely out of date and practically worthless, and urges the Minister of Health to bring idown new legislation this 'session in •the public interest, so that the Dominion may no longer lag behind other in this important matter."'
