LODGE MEETINGS

The fortnightly meeting of Loyal Kilbirnie Lodge, Manchester. Unity, 1.0.0. F., was held last week, Bro. Jorgensoh presiding over . a fair attendance. The bal-ance-sheet for 1928, which, together with the auditors', report, came up for discussiou, showed an improvement in lodge finances compared with the previous year. A report and recommendation from the Valuation Committee regarding the appropriation of the 1925 surplus was adopted. Bro. J. S. Wiley was elected delegate to the district conference. Loyal Rose of Sharon Lodge, Manchester Unity,,, 1.0.0. F., held its fortnightly meeting at Trentham last week, Sister G. Marshall; N.G., presiding over a good attendance. One candidate was initiated, and four visiting brethren wore accorded lodge honours. During the evening P.G. Bro. Greenwood presented an engraved attache case to P.G. Bro. Cropp in recognition of his work for the lodge. During harmony dancing was indulged in, the music being supplied by Hose' of Sharon orchestra.

The quarterly meeting of Loyal Combination Lodge, Manchester Unity, 1.0.0. F., was held at Johnsonville last week, Bro. A. B. M'Whinnie, N.G., presiding over a fair attendance. Visitors were welcomed.; One new member was initiated.
