THE POWER SUPPLY
LINES WOBKING AGAIN
INSULATOR TROUBLE CURED
The interruption of the electric power supply from Mangahao, caused by "flash-overs" on the insulators owing to their being coated with dust and salt in the dry spell and moistened by fog, has been cured by cleaning operations.
• , The eastern line from Mangahao to Wellington and district worked satisfactorily over the week-end, stated Mr. i\ T. M. Kissel (Chief Electrical Engineer to the Public Works Department) this morning. The western lino was proved in good order about dusk on Saturday evening, but it was taken out of service again, and some more cleaning was. done on Sunday, as one line was able to carry the load. Both lines were now in thorough working order.
Mr. W. Cable (Chief Electrical Engineer and Tramways Manager to the Wellington City Corporation), who was also interviewed, said that the two lines from ■ Mangahao were in working order again. The Evans Bay Power Station would continue to feed power to the Government sub-station at Khandallah, because the Department still wanted the city to carry a considerable portion of the city load, as it was doing last week. There were no interruptions during the' week-end.
