LODGE MEETINGS
Advance Division No. 6, 0.5. T., held its usual meeting recently, Bro. Reynold, W.A., presiding. There was a fair attendance. Sister Lockwood was reported still on the sick list, and relevant sick pay was passed. The balance-sheet of the Medical Institute was read and discussed. Bro. Reynolds reported on a meeting of the U.F.S. Dispensary, and was thanked for same. Bro. A. Gamon was unanimously elected D.M.W.P. for the ensuing term. Tua Toro Lodge, No. 4647, R.A.0.8., held its annual picnic on the Hutt Park recently, Bro. H. Noad, X.0.M., being chairman of committee, and Bro. Gil. Hearne, C.P., secretary. Au attendance of 150 members, wives, and friends/ and their children enjoyed the outing. The sports resulted as follows: Boys, up to 12: M. Chirm, 1, Noel Starley 2. Girls, up to 12: Violet King 1, Violet Lowndes 2; boys, up to 15, Ray George 1, J. Ballinger 2; girls up to 15, Jessie Thompson 1, Una Lang 2; baby show, Zeala Unwin, age 1 year and 9 months, 1; three-legged race, H. Wallace and Una Lang 1, S. Stott and D. Hearn 2; 100 yds Tura Toro championship, Bro. L. Reyling 1, Bro. Urwin, jun., 2; members' race. (40 years and over), Bro. C. Clapshaw 1, Bro. G. Taylor, C.P., 2; boys (up to 18 years), Noel Starley 1, George Waddle 2; wheelbarrow race, Kay George and Mrs. W.J. Hearne 1, Norman King and Jessie Thompson 2; girls (up to 18 years), Jessie Thompson 1, Gladys Oldham 2; cigarette race, Geo. Waddle and Irene George 1, Mr. and Mrs. Nickless 2; single ladies' race, Miss Madden 1, Miss iKnapp 2; open handicap. (100 yds), K. Drury 1, L. Sinclair 2; married ladies' race, Mrs. W; J. Hearn 1, Mrs. Ernie Dean 2; egg and spoon race. Miss Falconbridge and L. Sinclair 1, Miss Knopp and K. Drury 2; slow walk, Bro. Ross Williams 1; chain stepping, Bro. E. Dean 1, Miss Falconbridge 2; tug of war, Tua Toro. Other items caused great excitement. The open air concert was voted a great success, items being given by Bros. E. J. King, Jim Osborne, Ross Williams, Tom Bohlson, T. Wilmot, and J. H. Barnes, Bro. Ernie Dean acting as accompanist. At the conclusion of the day Bro.. Noad presented the prizes, each child present receiving toys, ice cream, fruit, and sweets. , . '
