SPEEDWAYS GRANTED PERMIT
The recommendation of the Bylaws Committee to the City Council, "That the Wellington Speedways, Limited, bo granted a, licenae for six months to hold dirt track motor-cyclo racing at Association Park Kilbirnie, was adopted last night. Councillor Luckio said that after hearing a deputation from tho promoters of the company and being given a demonstration of the silencer promised to be used on tho motor-cycles used in tho sport, the committee had been satisfied that the silencer was thoroughly efficiont, so efficient that lie was in favour of having a bylaw passed stipulating its use on every motor-cycle in tho city. Only six months' permit had boen givon. Ho was convinced that there would be no noiso nuisance to residents, but if there were the permit could be roviewed. Tho recommendation was adopted.
