RUGBY, 31st January. Sir Gilbert Clayton, who is to succeed Sir Henry Dobbs as High Commissioner for Irak, left London yesterday for Bagdad. On his way he will visit Constantinople and Angora to meet Ghazi Pasha and members of the Turkish Cabinet, afterwards proceeding to Syria, where .ho will meet the French High Commissioner and authorities in Damascus and Beirut. Ho will also confer with Sir John Chancellor, the British High Commissioner in Jerusalem, and will later meet Emir Abdullah at Amman. The journey from Amman to Bagdad will bo made by air.
