A MISSING CHAIRMAN
WARRANT ISSUED FOR ARREST
Australian Press Association—United Service. (Received oOtli January, 2.15 p.m.) LONDON, 29th January. A warrant has been, issued for the arrest of G. A. Brandrcth.
Brandroth, the chairman of: Nersag, Ltd., now in liquidation, with a deficiency of £27,047, is missing with his wife. At a meeting of shareholders, held last week, Mr. Hackett, one of the new directors, who presided, presented a fresh account showing ;i deficiency of £27,047, whereas the original bal-ance-sheet (signed by f.lio missing chairman, Brandfeth, and his wife) showed a, profit of £104,000. Mr. Hackett stated that Bramlrcth had a ten years' agreement tvit-Ji (ho company for £1500 a, year, plus an allowance nf Si 1000 Cor I ravelling expenses and a coinuiis-
sion of 3$ per cent, on all sales. His wife's remuneration was £300 and £200 for travelling expenses. Their whereabouts were still unknown. Books and papers relating to one set of transactions are missing. Brandreth had said that his gardener burned them under a misapprehension. (Laughter.) Mr. Hackett said he thought some sales which Brandreth said were made had never occurred, the entries relating to them being fictitious.
