EVENING SPORTS AT LOWER . HUTT ' The Hutt 'Club's.evening meeting on tho Lower Hutt'Keeroation Ground tomorrow evening should provide Welling- ] ton athletes and cyclists with a good try-out in view of the holiday fixtures. Sixteen events will be decided in about an hour and.a quarter, and-the- starting time, 6.30 p.m!, should suit the majority of Hutt residents. Miss Keneh, the Wanganui-Taranaki lady champion, who ran brilliantly at Athletic Park last Boxing Day, has joined tho Hutt Club, and her appearance at tho meeting is being looked forward to with interest. In addition, a number of Wellington's leading athletes and cyclists will be taking part. For the convenience of city competitors, a special bus, on which racing cycles will bo carried free, will leave Lambton Station at 5.45 p.m. Late entries will be received on the ground on payment of a late fee. PARAPARAUMU MEETING. ■ I''or some years one of tho most enjoyable holiday meetings for local athletes has been'tho annual iixture at Parapavavimn. As usual, the meeting will bo held on" New Year's Day, on tho Paraparaumu Domain, and, as in tho past, it should bo an ideal picnic gathering. An interesting programme of events,, for which there is no entry fee, has been arranged, and no doubt a number of Wellington athletes will bo among tlio competitors. Good trophies .are to be awarded, and there is a special one, valued at throe guineas, for the competitor gaining most points in field events. In addition to the athletic contests, there will be several competitions and side-show attractions. There are tea-rooms on tho ground, and for tho convenience of picnickers hot water will be provided free. A special train will loavo Wellington for Paraparaumu at 8.45 a.m. on Now Year's Day, and will leave Paraparaumu..for./Wellington at (i p.m. ■
