NATIONAL SYMPATHY
DISTRESS IN COALFIELDS RELIEF FUNDS RAISED ■ British Offir'.al Wireless, RUGBY, 24th November. The national sympathy for tho women and children in the distressed mining areas is finding expression in many forms, the chief being tho Lord Mayor of London's fund, which exceeds £100,000, The people of Worthing have "adopted" the South Wales district of Brynmawr, -with a population of 8000, in much the-same way as British towns adopted devastated French villages at the end of the war, Tho extension of this method of giving help, together with other schemes, will be considered at a conference of heads of cities and municipal boroughs which the Lord Mayor of London has summoned.
