TO SCHOOL BY AERIAL CAGE
The children who were cut oif from their sehoo.l in tho Carterton district by tho collapse- during tho recent flood of the KokotVu Bridge over the Ruamahanga River are now being transported over the gap by means of an aerial cage. This remedy could not be resorted to quickly enough so far as one small scholar was concerned, a son of Mr. H. R. Renall. Early this year this boy set out to' repeat his performance of last year of winning the attendance prize at PpnataM School. Up to the iimo }yhen tho bridge collapsed ho had not missed a day this year, and the catastrophe nearly caused his heart to break, it is understood, howevor, that tho chairman of tho school committee has arranged that tho days so missed by tho boy will not be counted when the returns are made up.
