CYCLING FOR A WAGER
In the course of his cycling tour of tho North Island, a returned soldier, Bihari Ileke, who lost a leg at the war, arrived in Wellington-last night from Auckland, having covered SSO miles of his long journey without niishap. He set out from Auckland on the 22nd September, and, according to tho terms I of the wager for which he is making the | tour, he is due back in Auckland by the 29th November. The journey from Auckland was made via tho King Country, Taranaki, Wanganui, and Manawatu, and the rider states that, in spite of some very bad patches of road, the machine has not required attention even for a puncture. He is making the return trip via Wairarapa, Hawkes Bay, and East Coast. Ileke states that he served with the Australian Forces, and that he lost, a leg at Passchendale.
