Tho following forecast was issued at D a.ra to-day for tho ensuing 24 hours :— Winds—Light southerly winds at first north of Xow Plymouth and Napier, veering later to northorliea and freshening; elsewhere winds freshening from the north and at times reaching fe'alo force in and soutli of Cook Strait. Barometer—Falling everywhere soon. ' Seas—Generally smooth to moderate, . but rising later soutli of Cape Egmont. Tides—Good south of Cape Egmont and Castleiioint; moderate elsewhere. Warning signals for' northerly gales are exhibited at Cnstlepolnt, Cape Campbell, Stephen's Island, Farewell Spit, and Nugget Toint. Weather —I'air to flue at first, but rain setting in shortly on tho West Coast of tho South Island, and later extending to other districts with a westerly aspect. Mild temperatures.
