MASONIC GRAND LODGE
ANNUAL COMMUNICATION Some difficulty has been met with this year in fixing the date for the annual communication of the Masonic Grand Lodge of New Zealand. It is naturally the wish of the heads of the § craft to avoid conflict with the turmoil of the General Election, and, if possible, to hold the Masonic "parliament" after the country has settled down to its ordinary affairs. So far, however, there is no means of ascertaining when the political dissolution will take place—it is so far a secret of the heads of the Cabinet —and politicians on the Opposition benches are vainly endeavouring to ascertain the intentions of the Minister in -that respect. It is necessary under the Masonic law to issue notices to the lodges at a given period, which is just about the present time. The executivo of Grand Lddge has accordingly decided to give notice to all concerned that Wednesday, 28th November, has been provisionally selected as the date for tlie communication—Duncdin was fixed last year as the placebut that until the time of the elections is known it is not possible to make any definite arrangements.
