TROTTING MEETING
AT HUTT PARK BIG FIELDS FOR TO-MORROW The Wellington Trotting Club's Meeting, which will be held on the Hutt course to-morrow, promises to be quite a successful fixture. The club has gradually grown in popularity and in catering for the best horses it has placed the trotting and.pacing sport on a much firmer fooling than formerly. The executive of the club is quite alive to requirements, and owing to the increased attendances it has been found necessary to go iv for :t scheme of expensive improvements, which will be commenced in the near future. There are not many local owner., but they are increasing and this will add interest. In the meantime,, many Canterbury owners find it convenient to race horses there and a large contingent is always present at tho meeting. The new train arrangements make the transit conditions much better than formerly, and. when the contemplated improvements are finished tho club should gain further public patronage; Myrtle Dillon has been scratched for the Novice Borough Handicaps. The following is the programme:— NOVICE HANDICAP (in harness) of 125 soys; 3.3 class; one mllo and a quarter. The West Coast-owned pacer went _mm 3_sec for a mile and a half, and looked as though he might have troubled Sunfish had he gone away right. Rolfe Audubon is reported to be smart, and Rollo may show improvement on his race at New Brighton, where he finished third to his stable companion, Sunfish.
